The S7 connects Ahrensfelde to Potsdam via Lichtenberg. It runs through the heart of Berlin with stops at Friedrichstraße and Berlin Hauptbahnhof and continues through Grunewald exposing a short view of Wannsee. At Ostkreuz there are connections to numerous S-Bahn lines (S3, S41, S42, S5, S7, S8 and S85) and regional services (FEX, RE1, RE2, RE7, RE8, RB12, RB23, RB24, RB25, RB26 and RB32).
The line runs every 20 minutes and operates at 10-minute intervals during the day until about 9:00 p.m. From Monday to Friday during peak times, the S75 will be extended to Ostbahnhof every 20 minutes. Between Wartenberg and Warschauer Straße, trains run every 30 minutes through the night on Friday and Saturday.
